The Buxton site is the largest of the Group’s refineries. Operating as a PPC site, it uses both pyrometallurgical and chemical technology in the recycling of precious metals.
Our refining inputs mainly arise from the chemical, electroplating, pharmaceutical & electronics industrial sector.
Our licensed site in Buxton in the north of England is set in the Peak National Park. Here we refine a wide variety of industrial materials by pyrometallurgical and chemical processes.

The residues after incineration and milling are blended and final sampled in a dedicated area. Samples are mechanically taken and prepared for analysis.
Melted
Many materials arriving at our site require incineration prior to sampling. We have recently upgraded this facility by increasing the number of incinerators together with capital expenditure on the afterburner and gas abatement systems.
Scrap
Materials can be chemically upgraded in our acid treatment area.
The site is licensed to treat gold & silver cyanide solutions and to chemically strip gold plated materials.

Alloys are melted and after sampling, cast into ingots.
