Presman Trade Only Policy
Author - Graham Couzens
The continuing high price level of gold is generating new sources of gold scrap with public awareness raised as to the value of their items. Presman Bullion will continue to only deal with the Jewellery Trade not the public.
With the gold price at the current levels the levels of gold scrap in the UK market place is at an all time high. The coverage of the value of gold in the media and the subsequent growth of shops and companies advertising for scrap has raised public awareness of the value of jewellery scrap.
Presman Bullion has decided to maintain its stance on only dealing with the trade and not the public. We feel it is unfair to be offering top prices to a member of the public with a few items of jewellery compared to the retailer or pawnbroker who makes substantial sales and relies on obtaining this price to make a margin on his purchases.
We will continue to take this stance even though some of our competitors treat trade and public alike and do not differentiate on price which we feel is an unfair practice.
The Presman postal service continues to flourish with levels up by some 30% on last year. We have taken on additional staff to cope with this workload but there are days when we can not physically handle the quantities arriving on that day. We will however ensure that payment will follow the next day with the scrap valued on the price on the day of arrival.
